eric = one

hello all,

its been a tough week as i have been battling a cold and trying to get settled into the new place. i had some time to edit some pics of eric's first birthday which took place last sunday. he had some of his homie's over to celebrate, my trigger finger still hurts as i could stop shooting these little cuties. i'll be showing a full slideshow of eric's first year of pictures in the next couple weeks, i had so much fun taking his pictures over this year, i cannot believe how fast it has gone by.

vegas day two

hey guys,

sorry for such the delay between blog posts. we lost our wireless connection from our room and we are too busy winning money (NOT) and have not been able to get to the pool with macbook and grab the wireless.

anyway we have been having a blast!! so far we have won some money, checked out jay leno show, took a helicopter over the grand canyon, drove around in a hummer in the mojave desert and most importantly spent time with family and friends.

i have not been taking many pictures the last couple days. i hope to get some shots in and around the strip the next couple, i have an engagement session on wednesday with a couple friends who wedding is this august. we thought that vegas would be a cool place to shoot there engagement. so a little work while on vacation, but i love my job so no complaining here.

anyway here are a few from the helicopter/hummer tour. i didn't have much time in the grand canyon so i only was able to grab a couple shots, it was hard shooting from the helicopter.

hello all,

once again i have changed the look of www.derrickrice.com. i have updated the new site with recent images and also have most of the slideshows from this past year posted on the wedding page. it is not yet 100% complete as i need to add more images, it should be all finished by next week. please have a look around and let me know what you think. i have tried to make it more user friendly by automating slideshows and easier image navigation.

amanda + chris = the wedding slideshow

hello again,

just finished up the slideshow from amanda + chris's wedding last night. what can i say, these 2 were so easy to photograph, they are so comfortable in front of the camera. we had the best weather possible for pictures, lots of dark thunder clouds. i know most of you brides are nervous about rain showers on the wedding day, but sometimes ugly weather makes for more dramatic lighting.

the wedding and reception were held at the St. Patrick's Church in Fallowfield, a great place to have a wedding and reception and there are many shooting locations just around the town.

thanks amanda + chris for choosing me to be your photographer, i hope you enjoy these images forever. hope you guys are having a great time in NYC!! relax and enjoy it because works starts on monday, sorry amanda(teacher) i had to point that out.

lindsay + jason = wedding slideshow

as you can see there is alot going on right now and i'm lovin it!! getting to spend so much time with my clients making some images that is going to last them forever. i so love my job and i hope you all enjoy the slideshows from all of my recent weddings and shoots.

well here is the slideshow from lindsay & jason's wedding. it was a great time and i don't think i have ever eaten that much food at a wedding before.

connie's maternity part 2

kathy + colin = the engagement

hello all,

today was a great day!! at 3:45 i meet up with a wonderful couple named kathy & colin to shoot their engagement shoot. engagement shoots are so much fun, its a great time to get to know each other before the big wedding day. the wedding takes place at the ottawa congress centre on june 9th, 2007. i cannot wait, its so much fun just hanging out with these two, i also have a hot date!! so be sure to check back to see the wedding photos sometime mid-june. here are my favorite 10 from todays shoot, also at the end you will see the SLIDESHOW, JUST HIT THE PLAY BUTTON..

alison's maternity shoot

hello everyone,

this past sunday i did some maternity shots of the person who i thank most for getting me into photography, alison. i shot blaine and alison's wedding last august and they are expecting their first child in june. i'm going to be shooting a lot of pics in the future once this baby is ready to pop out, i offered alison my services in the delivery room to get some real good action shots, but we all decided that it might be best to wait until the baby makes it back home. they have just finished preparing the baby room and its just beautiful, i have spent many nights in this room after a many late night parties, i guess i'll have to make room for the little one from now on. please view pics below. after scroll back to here and WATCH SLIDESHOW.
